Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a reservation?
Contact us by e-mail or by phone to confirm availability. Our calendar is
located on the Availability page. A $250 reservation deposit will secure your
dates. The reservation deposit becomes your security deposit (refunded
after your stay) once you check in.
What is provided with our rental?
All linens and towels are provided. An initial supply of toilet paper, trash
bags, dish washing detergent, small bar soap and laundry detergent is
provided. Wood for the fireplace is also included in your rental.
When can I check in?
Check in is after 3 PM EST on the date of your scheduled arrival. Following
receipt of your final payment you will receive detailed driving directions and
information on accessing the keys.
What is the check-out procedure?
Check out is at 11:00 AM EST on the date of your scheduled departure. You
will receive a check-out reminder list and there is one at the cabin as well.
All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash bin. Any trash left in the
house will incur a fee. Please clean up after pets and discard waste in the
outside bins. Keys should be left in the house hanging on the hooks where
they were when you arrived. Turn lock on the knob to secure the house when
you leave. We also ask that you ensure all windows are secured, the heat is
turned down or A/C turned up. Ensure the main access key is returned to the
lock box.
What is the cleaning fee?
The cleaning/set up/hot tub fee is $125 for 8 guests. If your party is greater
than 8, additional fees will apply.
We ask that you treat the cabin as if it were your own.
Please leave it clean, neat and undamaged.
Guests are expected to follow the check-out procedures.
A reminder list is also posted in the cabin for your convenience.
Do you allow dogs?
Yes! We love traveling with our dogs as much as you do. Please respect
that we willingly offer this option to our guests and ask that you keep all pets
off the furniture, ensure they are clean and clean up after them. A fee of $50
applies for the first dog and $20 for each additional.
Is the cabin available for rent year round?
Yes, we would love to have guests at any time of the year.
What is the accessibility to the cabin?
The roads to our home and the driveway are paved and well maintained. We
arrange for snow plowing in the winter months. However, the road to access
our cabin is a typical small mountain windy road - 4WD or snow tires/chains
are highly recommended in the winter. No refunds are given due to adverse
weather.
Do you have air conditioning?
Yes! We also have ceiling fans in all of the main rooms and bedroom. At an
altitude of over 3,000 feet we often don't need A/C - but it is available for our
guests' use.
Do you have a mountain view?
Alpine Escape does not have a summer view -- it is nestled amongst
beautiful hardwoods and evergreens during the summer months. In the
winter months there are longer range views and you can see Appalachian
Ski Mountain in the distance.
Do you offer weekly and monthly rates?
The weekly rate is the equivalent of 6 nights (one night free!) or possibly less
depending on the season. Monthly rates depend on the season and
number of months requested. We welcome all rentals short and long! Just
inquire.
Where is the cabin located?
Alpine Escape is conveniently located in a secluded mountain community
that feels far away but is close to everything. We are off off Payne Branch Rd
/ 321 between Boone and Blowing Rock (a little closer to Boone).
Is smoking permitted?
No. We have a strict NO SMOKING policy. Any evidence of smoking will
result in forfeiture of your security deposit.
Can you accept credit cards for payment?
Yes, we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express through
PAYPAL. We will send a Paypal invoice to your e-mail account. Please
request this option upon booking.
When and how will my damage/security deposit be returned to me?
Following your checkout and review of the property, assuming no damage is
found and the check out procedures were followed, you will receive the full
security deposit refund. The security deposit is returned within 30 days of
your checkout.
Do you have a minimum stay requirement?
A two-night stay is required at all times. During holidays and peak seasons
the minimum may be 3-5 days. Please check our rates page for details on
minimum stays at specific times during the year.
Is there internet access, satellite or cable television, DVD or VCR?
We have wireless internet access.
There are two TVs (one in the main room and another in the basement) --
both with DirecTV (all channels) and both with DVD and VCR. We have a
small selection of DVDs and videos at the cabin for your use.
